What BayBio Offers

  • Purchasing Group Program: BayBio creates programs aimed to stretch a member’s budget. BayBio Business Solutions, offered in conjunction with the BIO Business Solutions® program (www.bio.org/bbs), provides members savings on products and services that life science companies utilize regularly, such as office supplies, shipping, healthcare benefits and laboratory supply. The Member-to-Member Program (M2M) facilitates discounts on products and services offered between member companies. BayBio members are also entitled to discounts on BayBio programs and industry conference and events.
  • Government Affairs: BayBio works alongside public policy makers at all levels of government to inform the conversation surrounding issues facing the life science industry in California, including regulatory, tax, environmental, and coverage/reimbursement issues. BayBio members drive our public policy agenda through the BayBio government relations and public policy communities.
  • Capital Access: BayBio offers programs that connect member companies to capital sources and attracts new and traditional sources of capital from areas outside of the region. Additionally, through workshops on how to apply for government grants and the Therapeutic Tax Credits, BayBio has helped the region become the largest recipient of NIH and other federal dollars.
  • Events and Programs: BayBio hosts events that connect members with other companies in order to share similar challenges and successes. Events ranging from casual pub crawls to structured conferences connect members with potential business partners, investors, entrepreneurs, delegates from foreign countries, disease foundations, patient advocacy organizations and other industry leaders.
  • STEM Education: The BayBio Institute connects our industry with K-12 education and community colleges to improve science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education and to make students aware of and prepare for career opportunities in the life sciences industry. By supporting science education and educators, the BayBio Institute is helping to develop the next generation of life science professionals.
  • Entrepreneurship: BayBio and the BayBio Institute are committed to fostering entrepreneurship and innovation in the industry. Through pharma partnering, investor roundtables, pro bono business advising, networking and educational opportunities aimed at early-stage companies, the two organizations are supporting the development of the next generation of life science giants.
  • Life Science Careers: BayBio works to ensure that the current and future workforce needs of the industry are met through its Career Center – which connects employers to local talent (discounted for BayBio members), professional Development opportunities, and workforce surveys.
